Founded by husband-and-wife team Steven and Karen Gallo, along with business partner Michael Forrest, Galli Restaurant features Italian Comfort Food and great cocktails on cobble stoned Mercer Street in Soho and on the corner of Ludlow and Rivington Streets in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. On our menu, guests will find recipes that have been passed down from Sicily through the Gallo family for generations. We offer classic Italian dishes such as Chicken Parmesan, Polpette (spaghetti and meatballs), Branzino and Chicken Marsala as well as Chef Steven Gallo’s more modern dishes like the Integrale and Mad Calamari. As our guests enjoy their meals, they can relax in the casual, yet elegant dining room, accented with black-and-white Gallo and Forrest family portraits. Along the marble bar, guests can enjoy appetizers and specialty drinks created by our in-house mixologist like The Lazy Susan, which packs a punch thanks to the chamomile-infused grappa. Whether you’re visiting for a quick post-work drink or a hearty three-course meal, you’ll find something delicious, comforting and maybe just a touch unexpected at Galli Restaurant.
Chef Steven Gallo
Steven Gallo, Chef and Co-owner of Galli Restaurant, starts his day early – making sure his guys are preparing the red sauce in accordance with his ancestor's recipe. The recipe originated in Sicily, where his family has been cooking Italian comfort food for generations. Steven started in the restaurant business as a young kid, working every job in his family's restaurants - from dishwasher, busboy, server, bartender and manager. Today, Steven's focus is exclusively on Galli Restaurant, and customers will see him on the floor virtually every day, serving up his delicious Italian comfort food.
